Marty Rothfels, Director of Tennis

Marty has been the Head Tennis Professional for Gold River these past 21 years. His background includes being a top ranked junior for Utah/Intermountain 1970-79 and being trained by Stanford's Dick Gould and Tom Chivington of Foothill College. Marty is a UC Davis graduate and was ranked in the Top 10 in NCAA Division II. He attained a USTA NorCal #1 ranking in Men's Open Doubles in 1984 and has been a USPTA Certified Professional since 1985. Marty has assisted in event production for 21 years with USTA, NCTA, NCAA, SATA, World TeamTennis and Spare Time Inc. Marty is very proud of the entire tennis department, and knows that you will be very satisfied with all the tennis professionals providing service at Gold River.

Chris Gerety, Senior Tennis Professional

Chris has been with Gold River for 14 great years. He has been coaching for 18 years and has worked with thousands of players and conducted major events during these many years in the tennis industry. Here are some of Chris's accomplishments as an avid tennis player and instructor:

  * 1985-1988 Division 1 NCAA Collegiate Player Fresno State

  * International Satellite Tournament experience with best win over Jonas Bjorkman in Finals in Portugal

Chris Potthast, USPTA, Senior Associate Tennis Professional

Chris has been a proud staff member here at Gold River Racquet Club for the past 13 years and coached for 18 years. He is motivated to introduce, develop, and provide fun and informative tennis experiences for recreational and competitive juniors and adults. Here are some of Chris's accomplishments as an avid tennis player and instructor:

Amine Khaldi, Associate Tennis Professional

Amine has been coaching at Gold River for the past four years developing recreational and top competitive players. He has coached full time to players of all levels, ages, and abilities for the past eight years. Amine is passionate about his players having the best experience on court. Here are some of Amine's accomplishments as an avid tennis player and instructor:

Kelly Wilson, USPTA, Associate Tennis Professional

Kelly has been coaching for nearly fifteen years and a player her whole life. She loves the game of tennis and is driven to share her great ideas to help you improve your game. Here are some of Kelly's accomplishments as an avid tennis player and instructor:

  * Ranked #15 USTA National 18's in 1990 with wins over Lindsay Davenport and

  Chandra Rubin

Milun Doskovic, USPTA

Associate Tennis Professional

Milun has been coaching tennis for nearly ten years in both Yugoslavia and the United States. He was the Head Coach at the first private and most prestigious club in Yugoslavia, and was Assistant Coach of the Yugoslav Junior National Team. Milun has coached professional players, university caliber players, and many players of all levels through club training programs. While obtaining his double Masters Degrees in Clarinet and Performance, he coached at top facilities in Connecticut, coaching beginning classes, men's team workouts, women's aerobic tennis drill classes, and privates. Here are some of Milun's accomplishments as an avid tennis player and instructor:

Bobby Martinez, Associate Tennis Professional

Bobby has been coaching tennis at Gold River since 2007. He trained at Gold River Racquet Club under Head Coach, Marty Rothfels. Here are some of Bobby's accomplishments as an avid tennis player:

Seann Manering, Associate Tennis Professional

Seann joins Gold River with a career of tennis experience in his past. As the Director of Tennis for Arden Hills for 13 years and for Rollingwood Racquet Club for eight years prior, Seann is a well recognized and experienced professional. He has run tournaments, social events, and trained players for decades, to enjoy the wonderful game of tennis. Seann offers drop in classes on weekday mornings, developing the rookie training and match play program, and providing USTA/SATA team training access. Many of our well established tennis players know and support Seann's commitment to tennis and are very enthusiastic about his presence at Gold River.

Mari Maattanen-Silva, Associate Tennis Professional

I have been coaching for over 9 great years, which has been a wonderful period for developing tennis players and enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. I have worked with world class players in France and the United States, and yet still love to train recreational and competitive players at the club level. I feel that tennis is a game for everyone to enjoy and experience. Tennis is such an important part of my life as well as for my family. I hope I can share my passion with you on the court.

Justin Garcia, Associate Tennis Professional

Justin has been one of the top junior and college players from Gold River during the last 10 years. Trained as a player and coach by Marty Rothfels and Chris Gerety, Justin knows how to compete and train players through a very high level. Justin enjoys working with children and adults, whether you are a beginner or an aspiring competitive player. Justin has been helping with the junior and adult programs for the last three summers and looks forward to helping your game improve.

Keith is a USPTA Pro 1 certified level coach who has trained junior league teams, Adult USTA league teams, and all levels of recreational and competitive students.
