Cris Bacharach, Tennis Director and Head Tennis Professional

Our Head Tennis Professional, Cris Bacharach has been at Johnson Ranch for 15 years. Cris graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 1985 and was the schools’ very first All American athlete. Formerly a high school physics and chemistry instructor, Cris has been playing and teaching tennis in the Sacramento area for 25 years.

Rory Wood, Junior Tennis Coordinator, Tennis Professional

Rory Wood comes to Johnson Ranch by way of Zimbabwe on the African continent. Rory has been in charge of organizing the Junior Tennis Program at the club for 7 years. He is an expert at starting very young players on the road to Championship level play. Rory has over 13 years experience as an instructor and has made developing young players his life’s work.

Isaiah Hulme, Tennis Professional

Isaiah has been teaching tennis at Johnson Ranch for 15 years. He is an active competitor in Northern California and enjoys working with beginners as well as top caliber players. Isaiah is passionate about tennis, is a true student of the game, and loves to share his knowledge with others. Isaiah graduated from Sacramento State in 1997.

Ashlee Ashba, Tennis Professional

Ashlee is another long time Pro at Johnson Ranch Racquet Club. Ashlee has been an instructor at Johnson Ranch for over 13 years and has been with Spare Time for over 18 years as a playing and teaching professional. During her years at the club she has won 9 National Championship Titles. She is an expert on both singles and doubles strategy. Ashlee played on a scholarship at Montana State where she graduated in 1989.

Greg Anderson, Tennis Professional

This 1984 UC Santa Barbara Graduate was a top Nor Cal player for years. Greg has been tennis professional in the greater Sacramento area for almost 25 years and joined the Johnson Ranch Staff 12 years ago. He quickly became a club favorite when it comes to the finer points of technique. Greg was the American River College Men’s Tennis coach for 9 years and now brings his extensive collegiate tennis background to Johnson Ranch.

Bill Ray, Tennis Professional

Bill has been a well known tennis professional throughout the state of California for over 35 years. As a Junior player in Boys 18 Bill's USTA tournament record was so impressive that he acquired a gunslingers’ mystique and is still referred to as “Billy Ray". Bill went on the play for Arizona State and then completed his MBA at Sacramento State. Bill’s simple and compact strokes and incredible court coverage make him a phenomenal competitor today. As an instructor he imparts a great deal of wisdom and efficiency to his students.

Jim Yoakum, Tennis Professional

Jim Yoakum has been a tennis professional for over ten years here in Northern California and the Tahoe region. Jim coached for 7 years at Rio Americano high school as the men’s head coach where he guided the team to 4 section titles. Jim now brings his extensive coaching experience to Johnson Ranch and the Granite Bay high school team. Jim is an expert in video analysis using “Dartfish” technology.
